Applications invited for post of Director of EDAL

The Irish Refugee Council (IRC) is seeking to appoint a Director to work on a contractual basis with the EDAL Project Manager.  The person is expected to take up responsibilities as soon as possible and must be available until the end of February 2014 when the current phase of EDAL will come to an end. 

Post of Director

The Director will play an important role in facilitating the international conference in January 2014 and more generally will look towards the development and sustainability of EDAL beyond the expiration of the ERF grant at the end of February 2014. 

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

1.  Expertise in international and European asylum law;

2.  A comprehensive understanding of the Common European Asylum System (CEAS);

3.  A record of writing for publication (whether academic or otherwise) in the field of asylum law;

4.  Proven presentation and communication skills;

5.  Excellent organisational skills; and

6.  An awareness of European Refugee Fund-funded projects and of the project-funding context generally.
