The Hungarian Helsinki Committee, the European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) and the European Legal Network on Asylum (ELENA) have organised an ELENA course on ‘credibility assessment in asylum claims’. The course, which will take place in Madrid on 5-7 May 2014, is for NGO legal practitioners, lawyers, decision makers and staff of national asylum authorities, researchers and those working in international and non-governmental organisations which specialise in asylum law. The event is partially funded by the European Commission as part of the “Building Credibility” (CREDO 2) project, with the support of the UNHCR Bureau for Europe.

The course, which will be in English, will include plenary sessions facilitated by prominent experts and academics; the final programme and list of speakers will be available in April 2014. Register by completing the registration form and emailing it to tudor.rosu@helsinki.hu. The venue of the course will be the Rafael Hotel Atocha, situated in the centre of Madrid.

Participation in the course is free of charge. Priority for limited subsidies towards travel, accommodation and meals will be given to ELENA national coordinators and participants from Southern and Eastern EU member states. Please indicate in your registration form if you require your costs of participation to be covered by the organizers.

The registration form and preliminary agenda are available on the ECRE website and on the website of the Hungarian Helsinki Committee.
