The European Court of Human Rights has recently communicated several asylum-related cases:
On 19 April 2018, the European Court of Human Rights ruled in case A.S. v. France (application no. 46240/16), which concerned a Moroccan national who acquired French nationality in 2002 and who was sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment in 2013 for involvement in a conspiracy to carry out terrorist acts in France and in other countries.
On 10 April 2018, the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) ruled in case Bistieva and others v. Poland (application no. 75157/14), which concerned the detention for almost six months of a Russian national and her three children at the Kętrzyn guarded centre for foreigners. Ms Bistieva arrived in Poland with her husband and the first two children in 2012.

On 21 March 2018, the ECtHR communicated case M.G. v. Greece (application no. 37062/14), which concerned the detention of a Sudanese applicant, a victim of torture in his country of origin and suffering from drug addiction, at the police stations of Kypseli and Galatsi from January to November 2013. In November 2013, the applicant was granted refugee status.
On 15 March 2018, the European Court of Human Rights published its decision to strike the case M.D. v. Greece (application no. 30275/17) off its list.

On 27 February 2018, the European Court of Human Rights ruled in case M.K. v. Russia(application no. 35346/16), which concerned a Syrian national who arrived in Russia in 2015 on a study visa and who, following the expiration of that visa, applied for refugee status based on the risks to his life and safety in the light of the conflict in Syria.
